Who should do this course:
Start gaining additional experience as a PADI Professional and become an instructional scuba assistant and assume teaching responsibilities while concentrating on developing teaching skills. It is a big step to gaining experience in order to become a scuba instructor!
The PADI Assistant Instructor Course consists of 3 modules; Academic training, Independent study and Practical application. In addition to the responsibilities and duties you already have as a PADI Divemaster, as a PADI Assistant Instructor you can teach academic, present initial skills during confined water dives, evaluate Open Water Diver surface skills, and many more under the supervision of a PADI Instructor.
This course is the first component of the PADI Instructor Development Course and builds upon Divemaster training. The Assistant Instructor course is a program that introduces you to the role of an instructional assistant, both in academic teaching and in confined & open water training. After this program, you can enroll in a PADI IDC to carry on your career to a Open Water Scuba Instructor.
As an Assistant Instructor you immediately improve your employability within the dive industry and increase your earnings potential. This program credits towards the PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) and allows you to gain experience as an instructional assistant before deciding to commit to the IDC. The Assistant Instructor course can be conducted as part of the PADI IDC or as a stand-alone program.

Pre-requisites:
- PADI Divemaster
- 18 years old
- 60 Logged Dives
- Documented experience in night diving, deep diving, and underwater navigation
- Medical clearance attesting to dive fitness signed by a physician with the previous 12 months
- Emernecy First Response Primary & Secondary Care course completion with the last 24 months
