PROJECT AWARE - taking action for the ocean

project AWARE is a registered non profit organisation. They are a global movement for ocean protection by taking action above and below the water. 

Deep Blue Diving & Watersports are a 100% Project AWARE partner which means we make a donation to project AWARE on behalf of every PADI student we certify. This past week we have been taking part in AWARE week helping to celebrate our ocean and educating guests and staff on the vulnerable shark and turtle species.

Over the week we have held 2 shark AWARE presentations. 2 Turtle talks, a coral reef presentation as well as reef & beach clean ups here at Matamanoa Island, and at Monu & Tavua Islands.

With the help of 35 guests over the week we have removed 240 items of trash from the surrounding reefs and beaches weighing a total of 45kg.
